J Family Farm Documentary Session – July 12, 2017 | Drayton Valley Documentary Photographer
I met this family a couple years ago and we had a session down by the river. Mom Lindsey contacted me this spring and said she was very interested in a documentary-style session. She mentioned that her favourite shot from our last session was of the family just walking down the road (rather than sitting posed and smiling at the camera), so I knew right away that she was down with my style of family photography. The second she mentioned horses and a hot dog roast, I was hooked! We planned a super relaxed, simple session of feeding the horses, cooking some supper over the fire, and just hanging out at grandma and grandpa’s farm. We ended up with so many awesome shots of their family just doing their thing, from an impromptu soccer match to marshmallows over the fire to cuddles with puppies. We also fit in a few family shots; I think it was literally 5 minutes out of our 2+ house spent together, which makes family photos soooo much easier on the kids…and Dad!
I love repeat clients and getting to know them better each time we spend a session together. I especially like that it was the MOST relaxing evening ever; gotta love when work feels like play. If you want to chill out and have a relaxing evening of your own (and end up with some awesome family photos out of the deal!) then contact me today to book your session!
