Miss L Lifestyle Newborn Session – November 16, 2016 | Drayton Valley Documentary Photographer
While she was expecting, Miss L’s mom Kathryn mentioned to me that she was interested in photos that were not posed of the upcoming addition to their family. She said her two boys were so active and busy that it would be easier on everyone to just do their thing and have me photograph it. I actually think I literally jumped for joy when she said that, as it coincided perfectly with the direction my photography was headed. She was due shortly after my latest baby was born, but I figured we could squeeze in a session between my babe’s naps. We photographed a typical day in the household of a family with twin three-year-olds and a newborn. Just a little busy. This of course involved snack time, but also tickle fights, checking out baby sister, and helping dad jam on the guitar.
I’m blown away that these were taken almost a year ago already (I really do suck at keeping up with blog posts). A few months ago I received a sweet note from Kathryn saying that even though she appreciated the photos at the time, they mean even more to her now because that time in her family’s life was such a blur. Music to my photography ears. If you have a blurry time coming up in your life, contact me today; let’s get real and tell your story.
